  • Handmade
  • Materials: Pine needles

We pick these white pine needles fresh on or near our farm, which is surrounded by National and State Forest. We never spray our trees or anything else.

We've been foraging for over 30 years and we've been blogging about it since 2010 on wildedible.com.

Our pine needles are shipped in freezer bags -- please use immediately or freeze for later use. These are fresh so they need to be taken care of as soon as you receive your package. We can't be responsible for packages left too long in the hot sun, a hot mailbox, etc.

Please rinse before use.

Plese see our pine needle article for details on use: https://www.wildedible.com/pine-needle-tea-natural-vitamin-c

PINE NEEDLE TEA RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup Eastern white pine needles, chopped or cut with scissors into 1/2 inch lengths

3 cups water

INSTRUCTIONS
Bring water to a boil in a stainless steel pan.

Add pine needles.

For a milder tea, remove from heat and let steep for 15 to 20 minutes.

For a stronger tea, simmer -- don't boil -- for 20 minutes and remove from heat. Then cover and let sit overnight or continue to next step and serve.

Strain out pine needles, sweeten to taste, and serve tea hot or cold.

NOTES
Make sure not to boil the pine needles in order to preserve the vitamin C and prevent the release of bitter terpenes. Vitamin C doesn't last long, so drink this tea as soon as possible.
