There is a distinct division in our family on olive and garlic lovers and olive haters. Luckily, half of the family with their choices enables other half of the family (PaperDisciple.etsy.com and myself) to enjoy double as much in this heavenly food! Have you ever walked by the Olive Aisle at Whole Foods? See, one of the reasons I try to stay away from that store is lack of control in the presence of divine fruits like those in the photo - they are for display purposes, and as soon as we entered the house, origami-gifted offspring made them disappear!

Where the wood came from: Magnolia wood, the same branch like this piece:

as well this box:

It used to be in our neighbor yard, but it was too close to the house and was moving the foundation. In the meantime is has been cured for 4 years. For this particular serving bowl, I left the natural shape, used where a branch used to be to drill a hole for toothpicks or chopsticks. At the top, it is 3.5 by 5", and is 3" tall. It is protected with cutting board conditioner, ready to be shipped to you. You may want to use it for something else, trinket dish or whatever you like! The bottom has a turquoise peace sealed with epoxy (where the wood was not in the perfect condition).

Bon appetit,
