1. Traditionally used as a small bento for home with guests with children or picnic box for condiments, like ginger or tsukemono, appetizers, like small sushi of kappa-maki or dessert for mochi - sweet rice cakes, cookies or candy.

2. I mainly used it as a jewelry box for my daily favorites on my dresser, but now I have the family set and it ends up being a catch all on my Etsy shipment packaging tansu.

3. Hoarder History: I have a large one from my Grandmother. Now I have the whole family of 4! Two large in blue and red and 2 smalls in blue and red!

4. I remember my Grandmother kept hers in the living room with sembe in one box and little wrapped coffee candies in the other. I keep coasters in mine and matches in the other, but with this small tiny one it ends up being a catch all.

5. A friend gave me some crystals and recommended that they be cleansed by fully covering them with rice for 24 hours to absorb any negative vibrations. I tried it in my little kokeshi box!
