This is a classy crystal with extraordinary form. The angles resemble sculptures carved with the classical Greek innovation, contrapposto, (or the "S" curve). Michelangelo's "David", though 2,000 years later than Classical Greek, is an example of this posture.

The total height is about 1.75 inches or 45 mm.

These metal crystals are 99.99% bismuth, (element83). They construct themselves while they cool, and the colors are random, a natural occurrence on being exposed to oxygen.

The post is sterling silver . The cubic jump ring is non-ferrous. Both are guaranteed not to rust or corrode.

Bismuth is a rare and little known metal, (only twice as abundant as gold in the earths crust). The crystals form under the liquid metal as it slowly freezes, (at 520 F). They come out of the molten metal the color of silver. Then they "choose" their own colors in the next few seconds, as they gradually change from silver to gold to purple to cerulean, ect. It stops when it "feels" like it, (and when it drops below a certain temperature).
The bismuth's weight is similar to silver's. There is only one mine in the world made specifically for it's extraction. As an artist, scientist and technician, I am obsessed with this metal. I can out create and under sell anyone. See for yourself as you browse, (and favorite/admire) my growing store.

Meet the owner of Element83.
