This box has lots of history! It once contained 12 Kalmine pills, a medication invented by Dr. Paul Métadier of Tours France, which was renown for curing pain, dizziness, fatigue and fever! A miracle remedy! The inside of the lid cautions the user to be careful of dangerous imitations and explains how the authentic Kalmine medication works.

It ends by saying that Kalmine is completely harmless, however the sale of it was stopped because it contained analgesics that were dangerous for the kidneys!

A real piece of French medical history! This box is great as a collector's piece or for storing small items like pins or beads. The box measures 3&1/2" x 2&1/4" x 1" and has a hinged lid. The metal and paper label are beautifully worn, and you can still see the original sale price of 9,50 francs printed on the front in red.

If you are a collector of vintage tins (or an adept of Boxoferrophilie as this hobby is known in French), be sure to check out the rest of the vintage housewares section for more collectibles.
