A spectacular Product Development piece by John Tiller! With a stately silhouette and modest details, this stunning vase pays homage to the strong influence of the Prairie School design found all around the Midwest. With only 10 potential pieces marked with a "P.D." on the bottom, this vase is surely a special addition to your home and collection! Glazed in Arts & Crafts Blue, a beautiful dark indigo with black highlights.

****This vase is NOT water tight and should not be used for live flowers.

Thrown, designed and decorated by John Tiller
Glazed by Scott Draves

This piece was hand thrown on a wheel using a stoneware clay body. Once the vessel dries to the leather hard stage the decorative design is applied by hand. The piece then dries completely and goes into a bisque firing. After the first firing the piece is then ready to be glazed and fired for a final time. Our Faience glazes are rich in variation and smooth to the touch, but do run! They flow down the pot and off the edge to create a completely glazed surface. Each piece of Door Pottery is ground flat on the bottom, this is part of the process and not considered a defect in any way.

No two pieces that leave our studio are exactly identical. Because each piece is hand crafted there will be subtle differences, and glaze patterns will vary from vase to vase - all part of the alchemy and wonder of the kiln.

This listing is for the exact vase pictured.
