A unique pendant created from an English House sparrow head. The head has been dyed black and set with black glass eyes. Feather color is a matte soft black (not iridescent glossy black) The head has been permanently preserved with modern taxidermy chemicals and will remain unchanged indefinitely when cared for properly. Head measures approximately 1¼" long and is strung on 18" of thin chrome ball chain. I have several of these right now and this is a stock photo. They all look identical but you may or may not receive the one used for the photo. Please be wary of knock-offs of my work being offered by hobbyists on Etsy posing as professional taxidermists. Items composed of improperly preserved animal parts will attract insects and eventually decay. I have been creating shrines, fetishes, sculpture and jewelry from animal remains for over 20 years. To learn more about me, my art, and my credentials, please Google "Brewer rogue taxidermy founder" and read my Etsy profile page

The English House sparrow (Passer domesticus) is a non-native species that was introduced into the United States from Europe. As a destructive invasive species it is trapped as a nuisance animal in all states to help preserve the habitat of native birds. This species is not protected by U.S. federal law unlike indigenous songbirds which are protected by the Migratory Bird Act.
