Fabulous suit pattern from the early 1930s with gorgeous long skirt, wide lapel long jacket and tie neck blouse cut on the bias by Pictorial Printed Patterns, The Pictorial Review Company of Paris, New York and London.

Bust 34

If you know how to grade patterns (or know someone who can) this could easily be manipulated for other sizes.

Their description reads:

"Women's and Misses' Suit and Blouse: here is a chic tailored model that is smart, easy and economical to make with its simple belted coat, its slip-on blouse with a scarf-collar, and long or short sleeves, and its skirt with novel pockets and lap-over detail at left side."

The patents included on the envelope start at 1925, include 1927 and 1931.

These pattern pieces are printed, and this includes a complete instruction sheet (the Pictograph sewing guide).

This has 19 pieces which are all present, and an extra collar that a previous owner must have designed for a different (curved) collar; cut from newspaper which has articles that reference President Hoover, and "Vice President Curtis" and his speech saying that "there is no danger that Governor Franklin D. Roosevelt will be elected president..."

Hoover was president from 1929 to 1933.

The pattern envelope measures only 4" x 9 1/2", and opens to the side, rather than the end.

The graphics are a delight ~ red and mocha suits, skirts, striped blouses; each of the models wearing hats, of course. LOVE this pattern and envelope (the envelope has darkened with age, as expected).
