The gold thread lace on this dress is just utterly fantastic, and the majority of the dress consists of this lace! Three long wide panels front and back are interspersed by a neutral sage green silk chiffon, with an attached low belt of chiffon that has a few sequins placed at regular intervals. The wide bottom panel of the dress has a stunning deco design gold metallic lace in rounded panels; the hem has been finished in a lace picot edging. Most of the lace as well as the silk is in very good condition with these exceptions; the shoulders, which are lace, show some breakage and should be underlaid with netting to strengthen, as should the very top back with similar problem. The sleeves were cut off by someone and need the remains to be tucked under and hemmed to the sleeveless shape they are now, and there is some underarm discoloration. My usual recommendation to forever fix that particular problem in a sleeveless dress is simply to reform the armhole opening to be further down, taking the stained area out of the picture completely, but the stainage is faint anyway. One could do these mild enough repairs and wear this dress as is or remake another dress using the fantastic skirting and the majority of the lace from the top as well. The lace is rare and lovely! Measures 42/38/40 with a length of 38 inches. I do have a few photos of the damaged areas if you request them, but I have not under-described them.
