This is a delightful pendant crafted out of an antique sterling silver plated dinner fork. It has been made to firmly grasp a beautiful polished stone, like some tiny metal octopus draggng it away to the depths...

The result is a delightful recycled piece of Eco-chic wearable art. Each fork pendant I create is different. Even if I bend the tines into similar shapes, every fork reacts in a unique and often unpredictable way, especially when I add stones to them. No two I do are ever the same.

Since these are pieces of genuine antique sterling silver plated silverware, each will bear the marks and scars of a previous useful existence. I take silverware that is more than a half century old, cut, shape, grind, torch, form and polish it so I can pull a beautiful thing out of a rough tarnished utensil. But I'm not perfect, and neither is my work. I wouldn't want it to be if I could. Occasionally the fork dictates the shape I can bend it into and what the final finish is. I have to treat them much like I would the grain of a piece of wood and go with the flow.

Expect the odd scratch, ding or dent. I call it character, I think it gives each piece a soul of its own. This old sterling silver plate has a tendency to become a bit tarnished over time. I enjoy watching as their finish reacts and changes lustre in response to the environment. Spoon rings generally stay shiny because if you wear one frequently you end up rubbing them against your pockets and clothing. You accidentally polish it all day! A pendant on the other hand may not get worn as often. You wear it, expose it to the elements, and then set it aside for a while. So, in the meantime it starts to tarnish while you aren't looking. If you want it to stay really nice and shiny just clean it like you would your normal silverware. Warm soapy water and a soft towel dry.

You will receive the exact pendant pictured in this listing, as well as a leather or suede cord of whatever brown/black color I have available. If you want a different chain or cord, just shoot me a convo and I'll see what I can do.

I usually ship via USPS and I'm at the post office almost every weekday, so I'll have your pendant on the way very quickly. Shipping is free on this and many more of my items, so order from me without worrying where in the world you are.

Make sure to check out the other designs I currently have available for some more exquisite forks and also make sure to take a peek at my ever expanding line of recycled silverware jewelry. Everything from pendants, to rings, to necklaces, to bracelets to things I'm not quite finished with yet...

I also have various recycled silverware components for you to use in your own projects. Spoon bowls, forks and handles all awaiting your finishing touch. Let me save you the time, tools and trouble.

Thanks again,

-gus
