I think this is one of the only (of a few at most) where you will find wood-fired beads. Since wood-firing is such an involved process (days), having the opportunity to fire beads is rare. Wood-firing is usually done with large pieces. I am fortunate to be a bead maker and have a wonderful husband who built his own personal wood fired kiln. My little bead trees get prime seating in almost every firing!

To learn more about wood-fire, check out my husband Bill's website:

If you need more detailed measurements other than the coin comparison, please contact me.

The price is for the 4 wood-fire beads pictured.

As there are many styles of ceramic beads that have become very popular, please make note of those that are mass produced and may not be held to the standards of those that are individually crafted. All of my beads are created with lead free glazes and meet safety standards required in the U.S.

For more styles check out my shop:

GENERAL NOTE: Ceramic beads heated to high temperatures such as these (2200 degrees F) are VERY durable. As a matter of fact, if one happens to get stuck on the firing wire due to me over glazing, It takes an extremely hard whack with a hammer to get it off. In some cases more that one whack!!!! ;o)

Thanks for supporting artists! Mary Ann

The cost of all of my quality products is reflective of the time that goes into making them and sometime the unique beauty that one piece has. Multiple colors require extra time. Please make note that beads of any kind may cause a choking hazard in small children. Please keep them out of reach. All beads and jewelry are lead free.
