A smoky and mystical piece. Inspired by ancient Anasazi seed pots, I made a tiny hole opening in the lip of the pot. This is an elegant and soft bottle form.
First, the clay pot was thrown and then burnished to a high shine as it dried. It was carefully loaded into my underground pit kiln full of other pots and combustibles. The firing process lasts a few hours and then the pit is covered for three days.
The colors of this pot are desert sand, nut brown, black and many shades of swirling gray. There is a lot of contrast and action to the surface.

Decorative use only. Not safe for water.

Size: 9 1/2"H x 4 1/2"W
