This vintage wood box was used in 1942 to mail eyeglasses from E.W. Smith Wholesale Optician to Dr. J.T.H. Powers in Middletown, Conn. The top slides off and has the mailing label on one side and Louis Friedlander, Inc, New York on the reverse. The box is 5 7/8" long, 1.5" tall and 2 7/8" wide. The box is built very nicely. There are postmarks and two stamps, 20 and 7 cent, on the outside. Also some old cellophane tape. The perfect place to store little treasures or add to your eyeglass collection!
