It always such a joy to reach into the back of a closet and find such a stunning item that has survived the years in such remarkable condition. This beautiful white linen blouse is heavily embroidered - front, back and sides - with the most glorious openwork embroidery. It's hard to imagine the time that went into creating such an intricately detailed pattern. Banded collar with lace epaulets on each shoulder. Richly gathered sleeves with lace cuffs. Back is gathered to a cotton belt that attaches to the front pleats. Front bodice is longer than the back, allowing for the dramatic blousing popular at the time. Assymetric front opening is placed under the pleat. Snap closure at the shoulder.

Condition: Excellent, considering the age of the garment. Lace is completely intact and quite sturdy. There is a yellow mark at the back neck seam where a tag (name, cleaners???) had been glued in at one time. One small light yellow mark on the front bodice about 5" up from the hem. There has been a small repair to the belt at the right side seam. Freshly cleaned and ready to wear.

All measurements are taken with the garment laying flat, doubled for the bust, waist and hips. Please make sure you leave yourself a little wiggle room for a comfortable fit!

Bust: 36"
Waist: 28"
Shoulder: 15 1/2"
Sleeve length: 24 1/2"
Shoulder to Hem: 22" at front, 18" at the back

Guide to Condition of Vintage Clothing:
Mint: Beautiful and perfect. Possibly never worn.
Excellent: Little visible wear, lightly worn.
Very Good: Normal wear for the age of the garment. A few minor visible problems that will not detract from the overall look of the garment.
Good: A few obvious visible flaws. Garment construction is sound and wearable.
Fair: Well-loved and well-worn garments with obvious flaws in fabric and construction. Great for inspiration or costume.

Vintage garments have been worn and loved…most often discovered carefully stored away in an out of the way closet for many years. It is not uncommon for garments to show some signs of wear. I carefully inspect each garment to make sure that you get the most accurate and informed description possible. When needed garments are cleaned and mended. Sometimes upon close inspection previous alterations are visible. I try to restore the garment to its original form when possible. Repairs are listed in the garment description. All items are sold as is – so please ask any necessary questions prior to purchasing. If a flaw accidently escapes my inspection, please let me know as soon as possible (and before leaving feedback!) and I will be happy to help remedy the situation. My wish is that you love your vintage garment as much as its original owner!

For US destinations I ship packages Priority Mail, arriving in 3-5 days. International destinations are shipped via First Class International Mail. For multiple purchases I will re-weigh and adjust shipping costs accordingly. If you require tracking, item will need to ship via UPS. Please let me know prior to purchase so that I can requote shipping cost.
