Vintage / antique bias binding tape in its original packaging c. 1910s / 1920s

A packet of vintage/antique bias binding / seam binding
Creschene Brand
Shade No. 39 - a leafy mid-green shade (it has proved difficult to capture the colour totally accurately in the photos)
6 yards
Unopened and unused in its original packaging
Bias binding tape is bound around a cardboard base with a cellophane protective wrapper around the tape (difficult to photograph as a result)
Believed to date from the 1920s, possibly slightly earlier (acquired with other sewing items dating from c. 1910-20)
Cellophane was patented in 1912
Sourced in the UK and believed to have been manufactured here
Content not stated but presumably 100% cotton (feels like cotton)

A great little display piece for your vintage sewing basket!

In reasonably good condition. The cardboard is a bit scuffed (and the layers have started to separate at two of the corners). The tape that has been used to hold the cellophane is place is a little grubby and discoloured through age and the accumulation of dust. Ink inscription on reverse of card. The binding itself appears to be clean

Buttons for display only - not included in sale
