This is a mala, or Buddhist rosary. The 108 beads used to count your mantras are African jade (6 mm). They are in a beautiful spectrum of green with some brown and gold. There are 3 larger bone marker beads that are carved as two playful fish to help you keep track of where you are during your meditative practice. The Guru bead is a gold plated bead. It is strung on silk thread with a gold cotton tassel.

When I create a mala, I say a mantra over every bead, hoping that my spiritual practice will have a positive effect when you use the mala. There is a little slack amongst the jade beads so that you can easily move them from one side to the other, making them easier to count. However, the marker beads are knotted firmly.

If you have any further questions regarding this mala, or how to use it, please contact me.
