♛The Details

Wow, here's one for the girl who wants to be noticed. Rockin' bumblebee yellow and black spotted cat print, contrasted with solid black. Fabric feels like a soft cotton or cotton blend. Black notched collar, double-breasted with working black plastic buttons, turnback black cuffs. The skirt has a single side pocket and a slim fit, then pow, a fishtail flare at the hem. Closes with a side metal zipper; has fabric belt loops (my belt not included in purchase).

This dress is home-sewn, and it's not couture quality...but an honest effort and a whole lot of 'wow.' There isn't another like it in the world.

All accessories (belts, jewelry, crinolines, pins, etc.) are for style inspiration only unless indicated.

♛The Measurements

About a modern size L
Bust (underarm to underarm, measured flat then doubled): 40"
Waist: 30", snug 31"
Hips: 40"
Shoulder to waist: 16"
Waist to hem: 30"

♛The Condition

Good vintage shape with no overt flaws or issues. It reads as clean and bright, but under close scrutiny, I found some very faint discoloration hidden within the print of the side bodice near the zipper placket; this may be traces of color transfer from the black dye. Also, some of the seams show minor pulling, as though the dress was tried on by someone slightly too large for it. The seams still remain strong; I just thought you should be aware.

Frequently asked questions about jumblelaya

Sorry, each garment in our shop is authentic vintage, dating from between 20 to 80 years old. We generally only have the one piece shown. We do not sew these items ourselves.

If you love it and it fits, consider buying it, since it's unlikely you'll find it again easily.
If it's older than, say, 1964 OR if you feel it fits our shop's aesthetic, absolutely! We pay fairly, generally 1/3 of retail, sometimes even more. Shoot us a note or set up an appointment to sell if you are in the Portland, OR metroplex!
Sure do! Convo us for an info sheet about it.
We do not have a brick-and-mortar shop, but we do have a private studio located on the banks of the Columbia River, directly across the river from Portland, OR. We offer LIMITED appointments currently, due to time constraints. But if you are serious about a piece or pieces you see, let us know and we'll set something up. Shop inventory is generally not kept in the studio, so you'll need to let us know ahead of time which garments you'd like to see in person.
