Rare Natural Wood Wand *Bay* for Healing!

This is a truly splendid wand made from the wood of a large Bay tree belonging to my neighbours. Every few years they need to cut it down so they can still get through the back door, so last time it fell under the axe (OK, bowsaw, but axe sounds better!) I asked for some of the wood. They gave me a few branches and after I'd stripped off enough leaves to last me several years at least, then put the rest of the leaves outside the gate for anyone passing to help themselves (which disposed of quite a lot) I still had two full wheelbarrow loads left to save in large bags in order to add them to ritual bonfires as they smell so nice! :-) Anyhow, this wand has just enough of a curve to provide good balance and I've left the bark left intact. The rich reddish brown of the bark is a perfect contrast with the pale honey of the exposed wood. There is a knotty, knobbly section at the handle end to provide excellent grip, many more small knots spread along the length and a magnificent large knot at the tip.

I think this wand has a dignified and almost regal presence and would be most at home in a stately ritual space. It would be an excellent wand to use for any kind of healing magic, or for the purification of your sacred space. Bay has an important place in all Mediterranean mythology and anyone who has a special affinity with the great God Apollo might be especially interested in using a wand made from his sacred tree... or any young man with blond curly hair! :-)

Traditionally, Bay is used for purification and healing, and is said to bring strength and protection. It can also be used to increase psychic powers.

Size: Ten and a half inches long and a little over half an inch thick.
268mm x 14mm

It will come with a list of the magical properties of the wood, a picture of the actual wand and care instructions. First time buyers also receive a sheet of consecration suggestions.

All my wands are, by their very nature, unique. They are grown, not made. They are all formed from twigs and branches lost naturally by the native trees in and around the perimeter of my totally organic garden. The wood is collected, identified, and sorted, then stored for several months to ensure it is properly seasoned. Then it is smoothed into the right size and shape for that particular twig. Finally, each wand is given at least two coats of organic vegetable-derived oil to protect and nourish the wood. This oil contains no chemicals or preservatives and is exactly as it comes from the press. I will not cut trees to get the wood, and if I’ve used prunings I’ll say so. I will not use power tools of any kind, and I certainly won’t use any artificial chemical substances such as stain, dye, paint, or glue. If you like, you can embellish your wand in whatever way you choose, with paint, carving, cords, ribbons and crystals, but I leave them as pure and natural as possible while still being beautiful, practical and non-splintery. All wands will be given another coat of oil before dispatch, wrapped in paper, padded with shredded paper and posted with their relevant literature in a stout tube or custom made box to ensure safe arrival. All the packaging material is reused, recycled and/or recyclable, so please dispose of it thoughtfully.
