Vintage Seo Jeon World Globe Bank - Very Hard to Find

This is a gorgeous Seo Jeon world globe bank. Seo Jeon is known as Korea's Premier globe maker since the 1970s. These are not commonly seen in the states.

This particular globe dates to the late 1970s.

The bank is constructed of maps printed on paper gores and a band steel meridian which supports the globe and is a matt gold in color. It carries a very colorful map scheme of beige with different vivid colors and which lists capitals and major landmarks, such as mountain ranges. It also has the lines of latitude marked in ten degree increments and lists the Tropic of Cancer and Capricorn. The previous owner added a "World Time Band" around the equator which gives the times all around the globe.

The globe spins freely and the entire bank is in very good condition with an unusual 5" diameter and stands approximately 9" tall and 4.5" across the base. The gores are tightly held and the colors are vivid and bright! I found two small scratches in the Atlantic Ocean, not at all detracting. The base is a tin painted a light violet and shows minimal wear in the form of one very small circular scratch (see picture #4) that is not at all detracting!. This is truly a beutiful little globe in wonderful condition!

Truly a bank to be added to your collection to make it totally complete with all of the major globe manufacters respresented!!

As Always, ENJOY!!!
