Over the past years, I would cut remnants into strips to go into my favorite quilt block, the Log Cabin. I finally got around to making blocks (which is so addictive for me!); these went into a good sized lap quilt. I also have a king sized quilt at the long arm gal right now. There are at least 700 strips of fabric in this beauty making up the Fields and Furrows pattern. I used a deep rich red on the inside border and then made an outside border from more of the strips used in the quilt. It is backed in muslin and has the deep red repeated in the binding. I machine stitched the binding with matching thread on the front and an invisible thread on the back.

This lap quilt measures 54" x 68" and is ready for those cool fall nights that will be here before you know it.

I always have and always will use top quality cotton fabrics for all my quilts. I pride myself knowing this will be used for years and will only get better with time. I used Warm and Natural Cotton batting; it was professionally long arm quilted in a natural color. I do have a 17 year old cat that loves to keep me company.
