An extraordinary large chromolithograph of marine fauna from a volume of Brehm's "Life of Animals". The title of the color lithograph is "Group of Zoophytes". A zoophyte is an animal that visually resembles a plant. The name is obsolete in modern science. Published in Barcelona, Spain in 1883.

Size of the plate: 12.5" by 8.8"
Size of the image: 9.3" by 6.7"

A perfect gift for anyone interesed in marine sciences or natural history as it was published in a reference book, first published in the 1860s, which made its author, Alfred Edmund Brehm (1829–1884), known around the world.

In excellent condition. Colors are bright and paper is heavy weight.

Sent flat, protected with cardboard and a cello sleeve.

This is an original chromolithograph from the 1883 book, not a reproduction
