Dark Shadows was the campy gothic soap opera from the 1960s featuring the vampire Barnabas Collins. The series ran for five years, but continues to have a cult following. It was just revived in the form of a Tim Burton - Johnny Depp movie that came and went rather quickly. The reputation of the TV show will presumably outlive that of the movie. This roving has shadowy shades of purple, magenta, tan and teal.

Shetland are small, hardy sheep likely descended from Scottish Dunface. Their wool is extremely variable, able to make sturdy yarns for sweater or select wool (from the neck) is spun into the cobweb and lace yarns for knitted shawls that can be drawn through a wedding band! This is well-crimped UK Shetland wool, that is soft and bouncy when spun.

My rovings are dyed with fairly even distribution of colors. Photos are of each side of the coil, so you can see as much of the color as possible. These are the same rovings from which I spin my yarns, so I dye them for that. If you find one missing that hasn’t sold, likely, I’m spinning it. Except for specialty fibers, rovings are priced at $3 an ounce.
