Made by Kilnforms, Inc. of Columbus, Ohio, this mid-century ceramic trivet was designed by Eugene Friley and Stanley Fistick in the mid 1950s. The two also worked together as professors at Ohio State University. The stylized bird sits amidst foliage and has a soft blue-gray glaze.

The back of the trivet is molded with the figure of an eagle saying 'Liberty' and 'FRILEY * DESIGNERS * FISTICK' c t-106 KILNFORMS INC 1064 W 5th Ave COLUMBUS OHIO'.

Measures 7 inches square.

Overall condition is good, with a few tiny losses to the glaze at the edges of the design. There are a few chips to the feet on the underside and there may once have been cork set into the round holes.
