This quotation is HAND PAINTED along with the beautifully done flowers and decoration surrounding it.

The quotation is as follows:

There is so much bad in the best of us
And so much good in the worst of us
That it hardly behooves any of us
To talk about the rest of us.

I tried to look up the author of this quote and found a slightly different version of it that is attributed to at least three different people! For the most part, I found that it was first printed in the Marion Kansas Record Newspaper by Edward Wallis Hoch (1849 - 1925). Perhaps the person that painted this once upon a time, liked their wording better!

It appears to have been painted on a heavy paper mat board. There is a very small rip at the top right next to the frame if you look closely. The frame is about 12" x 21", a deep green with gold detailing and is in fine shape. This piece is NOT protected under glass and would probably be good hanging in a spot where it does not get a lot of direct sun so it doesn't fade. It looks to have been treated well over the years, since it's paint is still bright and not faded.

A great, inspirational piece of hand made art that warns us not to gossip! In need of a new home, I can certainly ship it internationally. Please make an inquiry regarding shipping costs.

Thank you for looking!
