This handmade wooden button was created in ironwood burl. This wood is gorgeous! There is a guy who lives near us part of the year and spends the other part living on a boat in Baja, Mexico. He found a piece of ironwood burl down there (I believe he found it on the beach) and gifted it to my husband Jeff, knowing that he is a woodworker. Jeff was so excited to work with this wood and we were both delighted with the results. Look at the deep dark grain and then the burst of bright hues! I love the ripples throughout the grain. So unique.
I wonder what creative project these buttons will end up on?

To create our handmade wooden buttons, we start by selecting the most beautiful woods, which are almost always reclaimed and usually local as well. Then we slice them and each button goes through a long shaping and sanding process (at least four sanding and two polishing stages.) Then they are drilled, oiled with a natural finish, and polished on the buffing wheel. Finally we arrange them in families on a card. Each one lovingly handmade from start to finish. We pour a lot of energy into every button, treating each as an individual work of art.
May they bless your creative endeavors!

Care for these buttons as you would wool: wash cold and lay flat to dry.

Measurements: 1 & 1/4 inches wide.

ABOUT US

We are Jeff , Taryn, and baby Bracken. We live a simple life in the country dedicated to soulful pursuits. It is our intention to follow a quiet path and create gifts of beauty to share with the world and bring joy.
We are grateful to work from home. When we're not in our woodland workshop creating, we are working on the homestead, located in a lush forest of moss and ferns, on the side of a mountain. We grow an organic garden in the areas where we get sunlight. We love country life and feel grateful for the many joys it brings!
