This handmade sterling silver ring has a 1.6mm (.064") band, which has been lightly hammered and adorned with a large brass bat. We silver plated the bat in our studio.

Sterling silver is an alloy composed of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. The copper component in sterling is what causes it to tarnish, which can also result in skin discolouration. A lot of commercial sterling silver has been rhodium plated to prevent this. Fifth Heaven's sterling silver is not rhodium plated, but if you are sensitive to metal we will happily lacquer the ring for you - this won't affect the ring size or price. Just leave us a note at checkout if you'd like your ring lacquered.

We will make this ring in your size. If you know your size in a non-US measurement, or you're not sure what size you need, you can select 'OTHER - will advise' from the bottom of the list and either leave us your ring size in the notes to seller, or you can send it on to us via email/convo once you've confirmed the size you need. If the drop-down list is not working please leave us your size in the notes to seller box. Please allow up to seven business days for us to make your ring.

Customers please note that we have several plating options available for our metalwork rings - silver, palladium, rose gold, green gold, and yellow gold. If you'd like a ring in one of these finishes, please convo us to discuss it!

Shipping times average about 2-3 weeks to the northern hemisphere, depending on Customs processing times & postal services. You may be charged an import duty/tax on products over a certain value. These are levied by your government--please see our policies page for more information.

Frequently asked questions about fifthheaven

Sales tax/import duties/VAT/etc for non-Australian customers are not included in our prices; if applicable these are usually assessed and collected by your government or on their behalf by the postal service once your order reaches the delivery country.

Our standard international deliveries are at a cost of $6.50 USD for the first item and an additional $0.50 for each subsequent item ordered together. International orders are taken out of Australia via DHL's mail service, and then handed over to the postal service in your country. A signature will be required on delivery. Please contact us if you need expedited shipping.

Delivery inside Australia is $4.50 USD for registered mail, or $10 USD for Express Post.
Our items are made to order, and will ship within 7 business days (Monday-Friday excluding weekends) from the receipt of payment, unless otherwise specified in the item listing.
If you change your mind after receiving your purchase we will refund the cost (minus shipping) on return of the undamaged item. We request that you contact us within 14 days of receipt. The undamaged item must be returned in its original gift box. We suggest sending orders back in a manner that can be insured (US and Canadian customers can purchase inexpensive insurance through u-pic.com which is less expensive than USPS/Canada Post offer) just in case the package is lost or damaged in transit. Your refund will be processed as soon as we receive the undamaged item back.

We believe our responsibility doesn't end when we put your package in the mail. All orders are insured against loss or damage in transit, so if you receive your order and find that it has been damaged, please contact us. We ask that you retain all packaging materials as photographs may be required by our insurer before a claim can be made.
We're committed to getting your purchase to you, but sometimes mail can take longer to arrive depending on delays at customs, adverse weather conditions, errors within the postal service or other reasons beyond our control. If you have not received your order within 40 days of dispatch please let us know so that we can have missing shipments investigated by the post office & begin insurance claims as needed. After 90 days we may not be able to lodge an insurance claim, so we ask you to contact us prior to this point.
If you have received your ring and discovered that the size you ordered is no longer size you need, we can resize it for you--just send us a message to get the ball rolling! We will need you to return the ring at your expense, carefully packaged to prevent damage in transit. Resizing costs will vary depending on the ring type and if there is any engraving that needs to be redone, plus a small postage fee for the second posting will apply. Please note for international/non-Australian customers this may have a turn-around time of approximately a month via airmail. If you require a speedy resizing (such as for a gift or other time-sensitive reasons) we would recommend contacting a local jeweller.

To help keep your oxidized, sterling or gold filled jewellery looking its best, we recommend taking it off before applying any skin creams or lotions, showering, or going swimming. We also recommend taking it off (or wearing rubber gloves) when using cleaning products that contain ammonia or bleach.

Oxidization isn't permanent, and fades to a weathered silver look over time, depending on how much wear the jewellery gets. You can reapply the finish if necessary using the hard boiled egg method, just don't let your gemstone jewellery touch the eggs directly. There are some online tutorials here:
Our silver and gold are ethically sourced, mainly recycled, and eco-friendly. Our workshop is solar powered. We use a range of synthetic (lab grown) stones as we can be certain where they came from. We do not deal in conflict diamonds, and do our best to avoid stones such as natural emeralds if there is doubt as to how ethically they were sourced. With lower-value stones it can be difficult to prove that they were ethically handled every step of the way (from the mining, to the sale of rough, to the cutting into finished shapes), as it is extremely rare to have a certificate following an inexpensive stone from start to finish. We make sure to source our gemstones from trusted suppliers.
