I was inspired by a dear friend to make a series small trays and tumblers with the first line from Emily Dickinson's poem, "hope is the thing with feathers." These tumblers are hand-thrown to approximate dimensions of 3.75-4.25" tall and 3.5" in diameter They hold a minimum of 8 fl oz. After five years, I've redesigned them slightly- the cup is more flared and rounded, and I've painted the first line of them poem on the cup in my script in blue or black. It is decorated under the text with a small hand-painted and etched feather. Emily Dickinson's name is on the back of the cup at the lower edge.

This natural creamy white tumbler is entirely handmade- a ball of clay formed into a cup on the potter's wheel, trimmed, painted, hand-etched, fired, stained, glazed, and fired again. Please note that these are tumblers, not mugs, if you want a handle, please convo me for a custom order. It takes approximately 2-4 weeks to produce and ship these tumblers. I thank you for your patience.
