The fabrics that make up this bright and happy Handmade quilt are called Oh Deer! by Momo for Moda. Bright turquoise, orange, red, green, pink, yellow and a touch of brown all show off the cute prints. Deer, birds, dots and a big floral print are pieced with lattice strips in a Moda Marble called Sweet Off White. The quilt measures 62 x 67....this is a generous lap size and can be used in so many ways. Tossed across a chair or couch, folded at the end of a bed, on the grass for a picnic, or as a twin bed coverlet, this quilt will brighten any area where it is used. How about some happy color for a kids room?

I machine quilted the quilt with Warm and White cotton batting and stitched in a free motion, all over, meander design with cotton thread. The backing has been pieced with Moda's Dottie in red, and another Moda line called Panache for the center strip. I pieced the binding from leftover strips from the front of the quilt. It has been made double, stitched to the front of the quilt, then turned to the back and hand stitched down to finish.

I make all my quilts to be used and loved. When washing becomes necessary, this can be done easily in the machine with cold water and a gentle cycle. To dry, toss in the dryer and dry on a low setting, or the quilt can be hung or laid flat to dry. Easy!

Surprise someone special with this pretty quilt. Or, use it wherever a burst of color is needed. The colors will bring a smile!
