This is a large chicken egg. Big bold colors of yellow, orange and red on a black background. The large star formation in the center of the egg is echoed in the side band. Spirals represent eternity.

I sometimes take pictures prior to the addition of the high gloss resin. The resin application will be included with your egg.

Pysanky are Ukrainian eggs that are hand crafted from real eggs Because they are finished with a hard epoxy like coating, they are as durable as glass ornaments, and stored properly, will last for many generations.

The art of pysanky dates back about 3000 years; it is an old art using wax and dyes to "build up" a pattern or design. A simple egg, uses only 2 colors, white and dark blue. Complex eggs can use up to 10 or more colors.
Each egg is totally hand drawn in pencil, then redrawn using beeswax. This is not a decal, nor is a template used to create the drawing. It is not copied or traced...each one is totally a custom work of art.

This egg has been emptied of its contents and coated with a high gloss liquid plastic resin. This method of preservation helps strengthen the eggshell, while adding a depth of dimension to the design. These results cannot be achieved using varnish or lacquer alone. With proper care, your grandchildren will pass this keepsake egg onto their children.
Eggs are from domesticated animals; eggs from the wild are never used.
