These are just gorgeous....they would be perfect for any woman who loves the combination of fine blue sapphires and diamonds...but I was struck by how perfect these would be for a bride to wear....the sapphires would be the perfect "something blue!"

The diamonds are set in platinum and the sapphires and earwires are 14K white gold. Each earring has four graduated bezel-set round brilliant diamonds topped by a large cushion cut cornflower blue sapphire.

The prong-set sapphires are each approximately 5 x 6 mm in size and have a luminous cornflower color....they are beautifully cut with great sparkle. One stone is slightly larger and slightly deeper in color...but they are very well matched and very clean to the naked eye and under my loupe. I believe that they are natural sapphires....and some of the prettiest I have seen. I've calculated the approximate carat weight to be 1.06 carats for the slightly larger one and 1.00 carats for the slightly smaller one. (I calculated this by formula, as I have left the stones in their mountings) The prongs all look pretty good, though the top two prongs on one sapphire could use a little retipping soon, in my opinion. I like to be cautious about that kind of thing.

The bezel set diamonds graduate in size with the smallest being approximately 3 mm including it's bezel, the next being approximately 3.4 mm including it's bezel, the second largest being approximately 4 mm in it's bezel and the largest being approximately 5.5 including it's bezel. They are very white, bright and fiery, even with the white inclusions that I see in some of the stones. (under my loupe I see a teeny tiny speck of carbon in one of the larger diamonds)

The smallest diamond is stationery and attached to the sapphire....the bottom three diamonds are attached and sway delightfully from the smaller diamond and sapphire. This gives the earrings some nice natural movement without them twisting and turning like crazy.

The earwires are elegant and substantial and I'd be happy to include some tiny stoppers to wear with them for safety, though the earwires are a nice length making the earrings less likely to be lost.

On the reverse bottom of each earring is a mark indicating .33 diamond carat weight for each earring....making the estimated total carat weight of the earrings an impressive 2.72 carats! The total weight of the pair is 4.15 grams. The total length of the earrings from the top of the earwire to the bottom of the diamond rops is approximately 1.25 inches and they are very comfortable to wear.

I think these are very special....
