There is a tradition in Japan for sending postcards on New Year's. This is a hand carved wooden stamp to make a handmade New Year's postcard or a postcard for any reason.

It is double sided- one side has fireworks and the other side looks like there are fireworks also.

It is from the "昭和" "showa period". The "showa" period is from 1926-1989 but we believe it is from the1980's.

It measures 11cm wide x 16 cm long x 1mm thick.
