vintage railroad conductor's hat badge, marked "12 West Penn"
- - - - -
As a graphic designer, I'm always drawn to letters and numbers so it's no wonder this old badge jumped right out at me.

This badge would have originally been attached to a railroad conductor's hat, specifically one associated with the West Penn Railways, which had lines running in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Virginia (years of operation 1904-1952).

The badge is in good vintage condition with no major damage, scrapes or holes and intact letters and numbers. It is in as-found condition because I personally like the aged look that the spots of dirt add but if you prefer, you could clean it to restore the cream lettering to its former luster.

Size: 3.375" x 1.625"
Has a curved shape and a small slit on either side to attach to the hat
Inscribed on back (see 4th photo):
West Penn Traction Co.
Connellsville, PA
Heeren Bros & Co.
Pittsburgh PA
W.C. Patented

Truly a great piece to add to your collection or display – perfect for a letters & numbers geek like me or a railroad memorabilia collector!
