This is a vintage 1960's Garrard Lab 80 transcription turntable with a wooden tonearm. This was made in England and from what we could find about these transcription turntables, they were built mainly for radio stations and studios. They are heavy duty machines and are supposed to produce a somewhat cleaner sound then normal turntables. Cosmetically, this turntable is in really nice condition with only a couple of scratches to the paint on the metal base. The wooden sides hardly have any marks as does the wooden tonearm. Mechanically the turntable works, but it will need to have the power cord replaced. Right now there is a smaller gauge 3 conductor power wire attached to the turntable. We spliced on a different plug to the end of the wire and it works good, but the wire should be replaced. The second picture shows the control levers. The faceplate with the functions for each controller is missing. We played around with it and managed to play 3 records. This was hooked up to the KLH Model 27 receiver we sold. The sound was incredible. If you're into vintage stereo equipment and want to add on or upgrade your turntable, then this may be for you. Because this is a vintage piece of electronics, it is being sold "as is." Shipping will be high because this is very heavy and reflects shipping to the west coast. If shipping is less to your address, then the difference will be refunded.

Update - I finally found a picture of the label for the switches. Picture #5 shows the function of each paddle switch.
