From Farm Boy to Senator, Horatio Alger Jr., Daniel Webster

This book is copyright date of 1882 and is inscribed as a Christmas gift on the inside front cover in 1906.

The book is a biography of Daniel Webster. The preface by the author indicates that “there is already danger that, so far as young people are concerned, he (Daniel Webster) will become an historic reminiscence”. This book is an attempt to biography Daniel Webster with “a story biography” to make the subject of the book, Daniel Webster interesting and attractive to young people.

These older books are a great source of details about our history in America and the people who shaped our country that are just simply not available in new books.

The book is worn, but in overall decent condition considering it’s age. The binding is a bit loose and pages through page 13 are a little loose, but overall the book is a good find and could be reconditioned. A few of the first couple of pages have a few discolorations or spots, but the rest of the page are in good shape. We’ve tried to reflect the condition of the book via the photos, please let us know if you’d like additional views.
