1960s Embroidered Tribal Gypsy Sundress with Mirrors

Style Benefits & Suggestions:

This dress is something really special. I love the attention to detail inherent in the embroidery and embellishment. Also, the fabric itself is really cool – it features a batik-looking pattern with dots of metallic gold paint. So festive and gorgeous!

Condition: Fair. I am selling this dress for way less than it’s worth because it has considerable damage at the bottom. There are several large holes along the bottom, could be from moths or just old age. You could make this into a shorter tunic or mini dress, or use the fabric for other projects. I have included a picture of the damage.

Brand: n/a, seems to be handmade in Nepal.

Size: Fits like a medium. There are ties on both sides of the waist to make the dress tighter. It would probably fit anyone from small to a smallish large. See measurements to ensure a proper fit.

Materials: cotton and plastic mirrors.

Measurements:

19.5” across chest from pit to pit.

39” long from shoulder seam to bottom hem.

17.5” across waist. (can be tightened with side ties).

16” long sleeves (I think they are ¾ sleeves).
