It is Summer and in spite of the typical humid and warm New England weather, it is undeniably time for wild flowers to bloom. I like that pretty and hardy blooms can grow, in spite of testy weather and watering conditions. A few years ago, there was a fad that came along. It was "Prairie Style flower seeds in a can". Later it revisited consumers as flower seeds in a slightly off color matt substrate for bare lawn areas. i never got it going , because around here, folks enjoy lawns and tending to them. it would have been a steep uphill battle for my neighborhood to accept my prairie flowers and grasses as a substitute for greens. This of course does not mean that i wouldn't enjoy messing with everyone sometime in the future.
I could not be more delighted about this potential event.

Here is a pair of pretty earrings that remind me of the sulty blossoms that burst from the earth that comprise the prairies of yesteryears. Amongst the many indigenous grasses, one can count venerable and multi-talented wild flowers such as echinacea, black eyed susans, and bachelor buttons, etc .

The central pale yellow burst sits upon pink and apricot petals. As usual, I am pushing the metaphor, but you could understand my reach. Just for that extra glamour of glitter, I added rhinestones to the centers. This time they are clear stones with an aurora borealis wash.
They are suspended from vintage brass wires for an elegant dangle.
They are just 1 1/4" wide and hang about 1 3/4" from the top of the wire to the bottom of the dangling flower.

I am totally addicted to harvesting fresh flower earrings. Lots of variations will be showing up for future embellishments. Should you like something special, just let me know. It may be already in the works.
