an original embroidery artwork

This highly detailed piece has been stitched using my sewing machine as a drawing tool. A central female figure, dressed in leaf green and wearing organic motifs, appears to be carrying with her a special child. The child figure is dressed in a shiny gold-coloured viscose thread. There is a lively and densely detailed backdrop of many faces and figures.

My work is inspired by art of past times, especially medieval art. Over several years I have developed my own distinctive stitch style.

This work measures: 12cm x 8cm approx

cotton and viscose threads on hand dyed linen with felt on the reverse. Raw edges lend a folk art feel.

will come to you carefully packaged

these miniature works are designed to be placed within a frame (a box frame is ideal) or displayed 'as is', perhaps propped on a shelf amongst other special objects, or displayed in a cabinet.

I price each artwork individually, considering the intricacy of the embroidery and time take to complete.
