Here is another offering I have made in anticipation of the upcoming American Girl doll Caroline of 1812, or any of your dolls you wish to dress in a Regency period fashion. Since it is now known that Caroline will have blonde hair, I am now using Elizabeth as a stand in for her. For this gown I have chosen an beautifully engraved floral, lacey reproduction cotton print in shades of blue. My very favorite trim is making an appearance here at the hemline, this time in blue - an ornate velvet trim, above a band of solid blue. The fully lined bodice has two fancy buttons, which are a true blue. The bodice closes with two small blue buttons, and handworked button loops. Interior seams are serged. My name label is sewn inside.

For an elegant touch, the empire waistline has a sash made of pure silk ribbon, and ties in a long tailed bow in the back.

I have made the dress short enough for your doll's pantalettes to show. My doll's pantalettes are riding on her hips, rather than her waist, to make them ankle length, as was the custom for girls in the early 1800s.

Also included is a narrow matching blue pure silk ribbon to tie onto your doll's neck for a simple choker.

An additional view - a close-up of the bodice back - can be seen on my flickr page:

This will ship first class in a box, U.S. orders with delivery confirmation. For sale is the gown and neckline silk ribbon. My doll and any other accessories stay with me!
