Antique Opera Glasses Early Edwardian

These opera display repousse and engraved floral images with machine turned edging on the barrels. At one time they were enhanced by black enamelling, but this has all but a small area been rubbed away over the decades. They measure 4.5" x 3.5" and are in good order. All lenses are clear and show no signs of cracking. The screw mechanism are in good working order. There is the usual loss of enamel around the eyepieces and ends, but overall are in good condition for their age. They would be enhanced by extensive cleaning and removal of slight rusting. The optics are good and can be cleaned internally by unscrewing the eyepieces, which is usual.

The come complete with leather case, but this is not the original as it is slightly too big for the glasses. They have a beautiful popper clasp as shown.
