50-80 knotty dreads is a full kit. 60 is the average amount it takes to do a full head. Feel free to mix and match listings in my shop to create a full set.

Knotty dreads take a lot of time to make, there are several rounds of teasing, knotting, and sealing. The cost reflects the time it takes to make each one totally awesome. These can last forever if taken care of.

These are quick to install and fun for adding color and volume to your hair.

To install dreadlock extensions into loose hair :

Take a small section of your hair where you would like the dread to be, put the section of hair through the loop at the top of the dread. Slide the dread up to the top of the hair until it is against your scalp. Separate the section of your loose hair into two sections. Braid your hair down the dread using the dread as the third strand. Braid down the dread until you run out of hair and then use a tiny rubber hair tie to secure it.

Tip: The tighter you make the braid, using the hair more to create a kind of wrap around the dread, the more realistic it will look.

To lengthen your dreadlocks :
Cut the loop at the top of the dreadlock extension. Place the end of your own dread in the center of the now loose hair at the top of the extension. Use a small crochet hook to pull the loose extension hair into the bottom of your dreadlock. Keep pulling the extensions hair into your dreadlock from all sides until all the extension hair is fastened inside your dreadlock.

Time Frame:
Synthetic dreads can be left in for up to three months. At this point new hair growth may require them to be re-installed. They could be left in endlessly, but this may cause your hair to dread as well.

You can shower in these, they can get wet, use your regular shampoo and conditioner. When washing hair focus the shampoo and conditioner on the roots of your hair.

Do not use styling iron on extensions. You can use a blow dryer.

Shaping the ends of the dreads: Cut with scissors diagonally down the loose hair until it is shaped how you like it.
If you find loose stray hairs on the bulk of the dread, they can be cut off.
After washing, I find it useful to palm roll the dreadlock.
If they have a lot of loose hairs, dip them in freshly boiled water.

Knotty Style dreadlocks are very realistic looking and light weight.

They are thick and have natural movement .

These can be braided in to loose hair, added to the ends of real dreadlocks, bulking natural dreadlocks, wigs or falls.
