♛The Details

Utterly charming 1940s day or house dress in a light, sheer cotton weave (meant to be worn over a slip, trimmed up with white pique lining the scalloped pockets. So sweet! I love the bias-cut fabric used for the bodice, the turnback cuffs, the matching belt, and the full and comfy skirt.

Deadstock with paper tag attached inside dress and its original fabric "Defiance" cardboard hangtag.

All accessories (belts, jewelry, crinolines, pins, etc.) are for style inspiration only unless indicated.

♛The Measurements

About a modern size S to M; the bodice is bias-cut, so naturally has some give to it
Bust (underarm to underarm, measured flat then doubled): 36" to about to 38"
Waist: 26" to almost a tight 28"
Hips: full
Bodice length, shoulder to waist: about 17"
Waist area to hem: 30"

♛The Condition

Very good vintage condition, unworn. The backing on the belt is very cracked with age, and there's a cluster of very faint tan spots at the rear hemline at the lowermost portion to one side. I have not tried cleaning/soaking as they are not easily noticed.
