Once in a blue moon, I find a book by Ida Bohatta Morpurgo. It's always a red letter day.

Presenting Heinz Will Zum Handwerk! Illustrated by Ida Bohatta Morpurgo, all text in German.

The story seems to be an ode to handicrafts....we see children watching adults at work (baker, painter, blacksmith, cobbler), then fantasizing about doing the child's version of this work with the help of fairies, gnomes, African natives, Indians....sorry, but since I don't know German, I can't give you a very coherent description of the plot!

The pictures are adorable, of course, and the cover image is wonderful too.

All pages are here and strongly bound although webbing is visible on the last spread (see photo 5). Some age wear, foxing, etc, but no tears or writing.

7.5" x 9.5" On the cover, the corners are bumped and there are some spots and stray marks. Back cover also has some marks and scratches and little stab marks, maybe from a letter opener?

Despite the age wear, still a great example of this rare little gem. You will love it!!
