1960s vintage tabletop Cram's Imperial 12 inch diameter world globe. Secured to a round metal stand. Angled for easy viewing and always fun for spinning it around its axis. Metal gyromatic mounting adds another great way to view the globe by swinging it up or down.

Metal black and silver time dial at the North Pole with A.M. and P.M. labeled on it. On the Pacific Ocean area is the Cram label - Cram's Imperial 12 inch World Globe. Copyright by The George F. Cram Company, Inc. Indianapolis 6, Ind. Analemma located to the southeast of that. Globe has the International date line, ocean currents and air routes marked as well. Distances between select cities also noted.

This has been well used and loved. There is some tarnish on the metal along with some color or paint loss, especially on one edge of the base. Light soil in general around the globe from handling and pointing to places of interest. A few deep scratch marks which reveal the brown cardboard color beneath. A few small spots of color or coating loss. Also a few crimped or creased areas on the globe.

There is a black arrow marked in the Atlantic Ocean near Africa along with the penciled word South. There are streaks and marks from what looks like matte gold paint around Antartica and the surrounding waters. Silvery scratches off the coast of British Columbia. The equator strip has been peeled off northeast of New Guinea. No obvious dents that I can see.

Definitely not perfect, but rather aged and with character. Overall in decent shape. Priced accordingly.

Stands just under 16 inches high. About 15 inches at its widest. Diameter of the metal base is about 9 inches. Made in U.S.A.

There is no copyright date on the globe but it is from the early 1960s and no later than 1966 since Botswana is still listed as Bechuanaland.
