This bracelet, with it's vintage rose buttons, glass buttons and paperweight buttons, was inspired by the historical romance, A Rose In Winter, written by the late Kathleen E. Woodiwiss.

A rose button is secured at the center of this Vintage Button Bracelet. It is a very old open-work metal button which was made with an applied antique golden finish. The rose button is surrounded by vintage and antique buttons which include six matching square milk glass buttons, each with a hand painted sweetheart pink rose with a green stem and leaves. There are sixteen matching Victorian globe shape clear glass paperweight buttons which hold a scattering of gold lutz in their white bases (to me they look like tiny snow globes.) There are also sixteen matching clear pressed glass buttons with pie crust rimes from the depression era (1930s) and six vintage round milk glass buttons, with radiant carving around the outside edge, a lacy flower center and what's left of some gold gilt, they appear to be from the 1940s.

The winter's rose doth promise in the fading runes of yore,
That true love once found will again be restored.
~Kathleen E. Woodiwiss

The center rose button measures one inch across, the square rose buttons, the paperweight buttons and the clear glass buttons are all very small, each measuring three eighths of an inch across. The round milk glass buttons measure a half inch across. There are a total of forty five antique and vintage buttons on this one of a kind, handmade button bracelet. All of the buttons are securely hung on a new gold plated link bracelet. The bracelet measures eight inches in length and opens and closes with a flower adorned toggle clasp. If you need a shorter length just let me know when you order and I can make an adjustment for you.

"In Northern England, 1792, Erienne's father had given her hand to the richest suitor. She was now Lady Saxton, mistress of a great manor all but ruined by fire, wife to a man whose mysteriously shrouded form aroused fear and pity. Yet even as she fell in love with her adoring husband, Erienne despaired of freeing her heart from the dashingly handsome Yankee who couldn't forget her. The beautiful Erienne, once filled with young dreams of romance, was now a wife and woman... torn between the two men she loved." (A Rose In Winter / Avon Books)
