Handmade hardwood spoon
10 inches
Right handed
Lyptus wood
Sealed with salad bowl finish

Lyptus is a sustainable Brazilian hardwood. This right handed spoon/paddle would be a great gift for someone who likes using cooking utensils that have some personality. It has a sturdy handle and a curved end, squared at the corner. I made this spoon so that one side would work for a bowl with a rounded edge and one side so that it had a slightly bent tip shape for catching food in the corners of a pot. I try to make my spoons so that they can be used in every day cooking. The contoured handle is for better grip, but gives it a little style as well. This unique design is made from a single piece of Lyptus wood. This wood has a slight red tint to it that is similar to mahogany or cherry wood spoons. This particular spoon is finished a non-toxic salad bowl finish.

I like the color of this particular piece. It has a medium size handle and a medium depth concave face. The sturdy handle makes it easy to grip and would work great for working with mashed potatoes or rice. It would work great as a rice paddle or for your mashed potatoes.

The salad bowl finish that has been applied was designed for wood products that come in contact with food. It makes the spoon easier to keep clean and sanitary as well as prolonging the life of the wood. The spoon will remain beautiful if you keep it out of the dishwasher and avoid leaving it in boiling water. The salad bowl finish may applied again in the future if the wood begins to show wear.

I take great pride in my wood work. I enjoy making a variety of cutting boards, spoons and spatulas. I hope that you enjoy using it as much as I have enjoyed making it. Each spoon is signed by myself.
