Offered here are TWO (2) antique books...both SELF-RELIANCE, an essay by Ralph Waldo Emerson.

One has a green suede (soft) cover with moire fabric end pages. VERY old...not dated...I would estimate it to very early 1900s. In fair condition...suede is discolored (particularly on the front cover, spine, and around the edges...back is still green). Has a lovely handwritten inscription inside (see photo 2) and pencil marks throughout (marking favorite passages). Measures 5" x 6.25" x 3/8".

The other is hardcover..newer (not dated, I would estimate it to the 1940s). Published by Peter Pauper Press. Also in fair condition...cover shows wear, paper is peeling in areas on cover/spine, end pages have some discoloration (looks like it may be due to the adhesive which was used to adhere them), and book has some pencil marks throughout (again, highlighting favorite passages). Measures 4" x 7" x 3/8".

Both offered as is, as acquired. Will be shipped via MEDIA MAIL.
