This is a Frankoma Sequoya Cherokee Alphabet trivet in green glaze and it's full of historical facts!

Made by Frankoma Pottery it's solid and sturdy on counter top.

The top side of this trivet displays the Cherokee alphabet and on the bottom side is a brief history of Sequoya the Cherokee intellectual leader, inventor and teacher.

Sequoya created the first written Indian language and his syllabary or alphabet was declared official by the Cherokee council in 1825. The first newspaper printed in Cherokee 1828.

The red clay pottery trivet is green glazed and measures 6 1/4" diameter.
