"Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc," by the Sieur Louis de Conte (her page and secretary) freely translated out of the ancient French into Modern English from the original unpublished manuscript in the National Archives of France by Jean Francois Alden.

Author Mark Twain originally published this anonymously to avoid expectations for it to be humorous. Published in 1907 by Chatto & Windus, London. Fictionalized retelling of the life of Joan of Arc.

Black cloth hardcover has gilt printing on cover and spine, 12 full-page plates including frontispiece by F.V. DuMond, book advertisements, 435 pages, and measures 5.25 x 7.75 in. Very good condition with inscription on front endpaper, light cover wear, light tanning to pages, and slightly cocked cover. Binding is nice and tight.
