The blacksmith shop is one of the buildings on the Newlin Grist Mill HIstoric property. The original mill was established by Nathaniel Newlin in 1704, and the blacksmith shop was built around an old forge in 1975 using stone from the property and building specifications of an 18th century blacksmith shop.

I rose very early on a winter morning, and made my way to the Newlin Grist Mill in Glen Mills PA. The trees were heavy with fresh snow, and the stone blacksmith shop was softly lit as the sun began to rise behind me. The woods were hushed by their snowy blanket as the water from the mill race played its frozen melody.

Painting size: 24" x 36"
Acrylic on stretched canvas

The painting style is reminiscent of the Impressionists, and the technique used was loose strokes with a heavily laden brush, as well as pallet knife. The colors are both warm and cool to capture both the shadow and effect of the rising sun on new snow. Dominant colors are soft yellow, aqua, the palest orange-peach, ivory, teal, periwinkle, sage grey, and pale lavender.

Signed lower left corner, and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

Sold un-framed, however you may convo me to purchase the frame shown in the photo for an additional $100- (no addtional shipping charge), and your painting will be shipped in the solid wood frame as shown.
