Antique Gramaphone Phonograph Horn

This wonderful pressed metal gramaphone horn has seen some tough times, but it is simply powerful in its size alone. Even with the dents and dings, the black and gold are quite vibrant. This was hanging on a wall in a music room (see second picture for hook).

When you compare this to today electronics, it's difficult to image something that large, not to mention fairly simple by today's standards.

Early gramophone models used these large protruding horns to project the sound. Later models incorporated the horn into the cabinet design. When a person wanted to control the volume, a large ball (muffling ball) was placed in the opening.

You can see by the photos that this is not in great condition, but it is an important part of technology's history, a great decoration, or prop. Price listed reflects damage.

Thanks for stopping by.
